Choosing the Correct Type of Facestock for Your Freezed Grade Sticker Paper
Semi-Gloss Coated Paper
A lower-cost option compared to other facestocks due to good printability properties. Semi-gloss coated paper is recommended for dry frozen storage (e.g. prepackaged frozen meals placed inside cardboard boxes). It works adequately at standard commercial freezer temperatures (-18°C); however, it does not work well under heavy condensation conditions.
BOPP/PP Rigid Plastic
Due to its waterproof nature, BOPP (Polypropylene) freezed grade paper works best in high-condensation environments. As it is made of plastic, it is completely impervious to moisture. Therefore, it is recommended for storing frozen seafood, meats and ice cream products in tubs experiencing repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
PET
PET is highly durable, flexible and dimensionally stable. PET is typically used in the most extreme cold applications. PET will never contract or break when exposed to deep-frozen or cryogenic temperatures. For this reason, PET is often considered the first choice for use in medical labs and harsh chemical cold storage.

Do you have different temperatures for application vs. service temp?
Service Temp. is the maximum & minimum temp. that a label can withstand after it has dried down onto its surface, i.e. -40C up to +60C. The App. Temp. is the room and product temp. when you apply the label. In most cases this means the room temp. or a specialty all-temp. adhesive if the label is being applied to a pre-frozen product.
Is there ever a time that I can apply labels to a product that is already frozen?
While most types of freezer labels require a relatively warm app. temp. (usually room temp.) prior to applying them to their respective products, VIZLENT now offers All-Temp. adhesive rolls (also referred to as Frost-Fix) which allow for easy labeling of products that are already frozen or even frosty.
